AUBRILAM wooden masts light up the athletes' village
In August 2024, wooden masts developed and manufactured at our Brioude plant will illuminate the athletes' village during the Paris Olympic Games. AUBRILAM is proud to be one of the manufacturers selected for this prestigious project.
Launched several months ago, the project came to fruition last February. We had the opportunity to collaborate with the CONCEPTO agency for the lighting of specific areas in the Olympic Village, resulting in an innovative concept.
The lighting concept is based on 6-meter-high wooden masts from the MOSHI range, topped with tubular metal brackets made from repurposed scaffolding tubes, symbolizing our commitment to the circular economy.
Our solution was specifically developed to meet the requirements of Paris 2024, particularly in terms of sustainability and environmental impact:
Contributing to the protection and development of biodiversity
Managing the carbon budget
Each component of our lighting points has been carefully designed to optimize carbon impact while ensuring the durability of the project. After the games, the neighborhood will be transformed into an environmentally friendly area with housing, a student residence, green spaces, a business zone, and shops.
The Olympic and Paralympic Village covers 52 hectares across three municipalities: Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, and Île-Saint-Denis. It will host 14,500 athletes and their staff during the Olympic Games and 9,000 athletes during the Paralympic Games.
